Liwei Zhang Joins CICM as Assistant Research Professor

Liwei is finishing her postdoctoral fellowship in the Child Welfare and Wellbeing Research Unit at Rutgers University this summer. Liwei’s research focuses on understanding 1) how family and community contexts interact with each other in shaping parenting and child well-being and 2) how we can identify the most effective and efficient ways to prevent child maltreatment and deliver services for families involved in the welfare system. Liwei is particularly interested in exploring these topics in a multicultural context to inform community-based, culturally competent programs for families with diverse cultural and language backgrounds. She answers those questions by utilizing longitudinal survey and administrative datasets with multilevel analytical approaches. Liwei earned her Ph.D. in social work from New York University and received an MSW from Peking University, China.
